LOS CABOS, MEXICO

Alejandrina Calderoni is a Mexican contemporary artist from Monterrey, based in Los Cabos. Her artistic practice began in the early 1990s and has evolved through her studies and artistic experiences in Mexico, Italy, the United States, Europe, and South America.

Her work has been exhibited internationally, including at the Grand Palais in Paris and the Museo José Luis Cuevas in Mexico City. Her work is exhibited now in the Museum of Arts in Baja California Sur and has received awards at the Carlos Olachea Biennial, Museo José Luis Cuevas and a Grant from Fonca, as well as international distinctions in France.

Moving between figuration and abstraction, Calderoni explores the feminine experience through memory, movement, identity, vulnerability, and transformation. Her figures become a language through which inner strength and emotional experience are made visible.
